  • Connecting a temperature gauge to C60ELRU

As noted in the title, I have a 1996 60hp 2 stroke. Can I connect a temperature gauge to the temp sensor that activates the warning buzzer? I would like to be able to see if the temp is rising before I get the warning.
    Thanks

I am fairly sure there is just a switch that operates the warning buzzer.
but you should be able to bolts a sensor for a gauge to the head somewhere

Look at item 23 and 24. Blanking plug right next to thermostat. Should be able to get a screw in water temp probe there and hook to a temp guage.

I assume I will need some kind of bushing or adapter to convert the treads from those of the plug (Straight Screw #23 in diagram) to the threads on the sensor (NPT3/8). The boats.net part number listed ends in M1400-00. Is that indicative an official thread I can use to search for a bushing?

That looks like what I need right there! Is that diagram from the manual or Boats.net? Where can a purchase the part labeled (2)?

The part shown is the Yamaha temperature sender. Intended to interface with a Yamaha temperature gauge.

Illustration is from a Yamaha rigging guide.
