Been having some issue with the boat starting. The starter will engage the flywheel but won't spin to start it. I have replaced the batter with a new one (even though the old one tested good), replaced the starter and still have the same problem. I am guessing it is the ignition or the starter relay...which is where my question comes in. On this make and model is the starter relay the same part as the trim/tilt relay? What could I be missing?

no, the T&T relay does operate the starter.
if the starter jumps up and engages the fly wheel , then you know your ignition switch works
can you turn the motor/ flywheel by hand or is it froze / locked up?
if you cannot turn the motor/ flywheel by hand, DROP THE LOWER UNIT AND TRY IT AGAINLast edited by 99yam40; 06-02-2024, 02:36 PM.
