  • F250XA Water in Dry Exhaust

I have a 2015 F250XA. I had an overheat alarm at idle. After I dropped the lower unit I decided to check the dry exhaust by hooking a hose to the inlet tube. I have water coming from around the section circled in the picture below. There is no water coming from anywhere above this joint. It seems like the seal between these 2 pieces has failed. How critical is this for outboard cooling performance?

Note: I used a picture from the internet. This is not my engine. Mine does not have the white pitting.

overheat alarm diagnosed first water pump, then thermostat, then excess water pressure valve. funny that you looking into exhaust for overheating. have you washed engine after every use? have you cleaned water passages, like, ever?
