  • Dual station tamper alarm

I have a dual station single engine , 704 remotes. Issue is the station alarm will randomly go off like someone had moved the shifter on the other station, when no one has. It will just randomly happen, rough water, calm water, backing into slip, idling down the creek. No Ryne or reason for it to happen. I will jiggle the shifter levers and won’t stop. Doesn’t matter which station I am using. The only way to clear alarm is to shut off engine and restart. Any ideas would be appreciated.

What do you mean by "station alarm"? I am not familiar with this term.

Is the model of the motor not known?

Doesnt have anything to do with the motor. Only the remote stations

sounds like you were talking about the buzzer in the control station that alerts to the motor having a problem and limits RPM.
if you are talking about some other alarm, you need to explain where and what it is.

Would be interesting to track down the source of the tamper alarm so as to determine from where it is coming. Where the tamper alarm is located. I would be interested to know.

I wonder why it is known as a "tamper" alarm. Why would anyone tamper with it?
