I have a 2006 F250TXR with 940 hours. I replaced the water pump for routine maintenance and it worked fine for about 50 hours then the motor overheated and it was not pissing. Took the lower unit down and the water pump looked good but I replaced it again. Pt the ears on the motor and it pissed fine. Took the boat out and ran it hard for 167 miles and the same thing occurred. The motor stopped pissing and overheated. Initially it was only at 220 degrees.
I thought maybe the thermostat was the issue but I am told there is a bypass and even if stuck closed that should not affect the pissing or cause overheating ?
I see there is a pressure control valve that if stuck open diverts water to the exhaust..........could this be the pressure control valve stuck open??
