I see a fair number of OX66 motors for sale with issues some with good compression. Has anyone converted them back to carbs? I assume intake manifold would need to be changed out.

I haven't and don't know what hardware would need to be changed - but I don't think I'd want to. Generally, the OX66's are some of the most reliable engines out there. But at a couple decades old, like anything else, things will start to wear out and fail. There's nothing inherently wrong or bad with the fuel injection system - even the oil injection system is good - but it does require some maintenance once in a while, such as checking the filter in the main oil tank and/or occasionally cleaning out both tanks.Last edited by DennisG01; 02-07-2024, 12:42 PM.2000 Yamaha OX66 250HP SX250TXRY 61AX103847T
