  • Compression readings = how to interupt

I'm in the process of refurbing a boat with twin 2000 & 2001 ox66 200 hp Saltwater series. The 2000 has compression readings from 105 to 115. The 2001 reads 118 to 120. History, maintenance & hours unknown. Both start & run, although I have not water tested them yet. Should I be concerned about the 2000's low readings? Before I do any further maintenance, what do you think about the 2000? What if any corrective actions should I take? Thanks in advance for all suggestions.

Forget the readings, do regular maintenance and enjoy boating, leave the compression gauge in the tool box.

You're good. Those readings are fine.

If it's going to be a while till you're ready for the engines with your boat build, it wouldn't hurt to run some fogging oil in there and turn it over a couple times. A little motor oil through the plug holes would work, too.
