I have been reading this forum for years and have maintained an awesome boat so THANK YOU
Long story short...been running boat for 10 years....purred like a kitten...sat for a year(hard times) Started engine(stupid since I did not check gas) Drained separated gas(disposed of properly) worked and worked to no avail on engine....seafoam, everything(plugs, pump, ball, 10 micron, checked lines, plugs...etc.).....I maintained this engine for 10 years, and the boat....no service ever, since I did everything. Anyways, turned in to a shop to see what was happening(carbs and a broken oil link) I knew this already but did not have the time nor the proper tools to do(compression check) Carbs rebuilt and link fixed-920.00 later, tested engine and it runs much better but not like it did....idle ramps up and down slightly, engine rocks much more, and fuel enrichment doesn't work. I always test emergency since I am out on salt and safety is key for me....not to mention that I have never broken down on water and don't wish too. QUESTION? Shouldn't enrichment always run unless in the closed position(normal or emergency) if I recall, it will always run the engine in either position. Engine runs in normal but emergency, immediately stalls. Make me nervous because I had to use one time on salt and got me back to dock. Thoughts? Thank You for your time on reading this, I should have become a marine mechanic
