Just changed impeller on Yam. 50, pee's fine, but no neutral?

Why does Yam. 50 won't go into neutral after impeller changeout?

While you had the lower unit off you must have moved that shifter shaft where it goes into the lower unit....remove lower unit again and while rotating the prop shaft and moving the shifter shaft back and forth, find neutral...then put your motor control in the neutral position and carefully bolt the lower unit back together...should be good to go!...
