Tachometer 6Y5-8350T-D1-00 - Operational Indicators

I have replaced my old tach with the newer version and am curious how to verify the oil and water temp indicators are working? Currently, there are no alerts above the icons on the tach... RPMs and Trim work just fine. Any info would be greatly appreciated here.

Normally if the oil pressure sending unit and overheat are a single wire/connector. You short to ground to test wiring and tach fuction. If two wire connector,, short the two ends together for testing.... OOPs !

Have you any idea as to the model of the motor? Is it a two stroke or a four stroke? New or old?
