I am about to replace one of my outboards for a brand new one.
I am replacing an 2017 F50H with a new model (so 2022 or 2023)
The dealer has assured me that they are basically the same engine. My main concern was that the mounting holes on the brackets would be different, but he says they are the same and looking at parts diagrams it appears this is the case.
I have a 6YC display, and when I asked the dealer how it would work with regards to installing the new engine he said he would check and get back to me.
Will I just be able to 'plug and 'play'? Will the display reset the (port) engine hours to 0 but keep my starboard engine hours total?
Anything else I need to look out for?
I trust my dealer but just want to make I'm not missing anything as it will be me who mounts and installs the engine as I live in a remote location.
