I have the water pump impeller ready for replacement on my 2001 F115 Yahmaha 4 stroke. However the impeller remains stuck on the shaft after attempts to pry it up with flat blade screwdrivers. Is it harmless to cut it off? Does the impeller have a metal inner core? Thanks.

I gather you removed all the retainers above the impeller?

**Look at the new impeller and see what core (if any) it has.
We just did a Suzuki 140 yesterday and it was ALL RUBBER SHOWING. It may have had a solid inner piece as it was pretty stout
My F150, as I re-call, had a metal insert.
If the retainers are all off, would soak some with PB Blaster and try prying up first. Work evenly on and around all sides of the impeller SLOWLY..
You can cut away, just don't hack up the drive shaft. A cut off wheel (if available) would probably work a little better..Scott
