As long as the water tube fits tight into the rubber seal (#1) then you shouldn't have any trouble losing water at that joint.Comment

It looks like part # 1 has two (2) outside ridges. As in upper and lwr.. Never seen that before.. I wonder if someone may have changed the gear case at some point. If you want to send it to me,, I can more done for you with the pump then a pic. Salmon season got closed down for the first time ever.... Normal by now I'm booked 2/3 months out..not this yr

I think it’s the right seal, just don’t think it gets installed inside the hole. You can see the two ridges in the diagram/picture here.
Maybe it just slides on the pickup tube and rests against the housing?Comment

Does the water pipe going up fit it on the ID side ?? They are a bitch to install.. I work on mostly bigger motors. But they are all the same.. I forget which manufacturer refers to it as dampener. Which I found strange..I need a George Jetson flying unit. I'd stop over and figure it out.. Go ahead and degrease and take more pics.. Do u have a caliper ??Comment

It fits snug on the ID for both 1 & 16. No caliper but looks like sane ID on both. I’ll clean up tonight and take more pics.
