So, I own a 2002 F115TLRA. I was told by a buddy mechanic that I needed a new rectifier because my old one was producing high voltage and was going to fry my battery. I obtained a bolt-on used one for a Keys trip but it doesn't charge my battery while running. I am assuming it is bad as well.
I then ordered a new one, assuming it would bolt right on as the others. I ordered part #6R3-81960-10 as directed by Boats.net. I received the part and it has a different plug / harness as the original and does not bolt right on. I called and was told the old part was replaced by the new one.
Question 1- Is this correct, was it replaced? If so, is there an adapter to make it work so I don't have to cut wires?
question 2- I am running a 31 group AGM as a starting battery, is that bad? I've read somewhere that AGMs are not good for Yamahas, any validity to this?
Thanks so much for the help in advance!!
