Hi, I took off the lower unit of a new Yamaha 115 HP 4 stroke and the water tube came away with the lower unit. Can this be just shoved back into the guide in the upper unit. I seen somewhere that the engine may have to stripped down to get this back in properly.

is this a brand new 2022 motor?

could be a new motor to you, but actually on older motor.
but with all that said I have never heard of the tube coming out of the power head instead of the water pump at the bottom -
HI, thanks for the response, the model is 6EK-28199-76-E0. It came from Yamaha direct (Amsterdam) this year. The manual is dated 2021 and first published in 2020. Yea the tube came away with the lower unit. In the upper unit there is a guide that the tube goes into but cannot see what happens above this. In the parts diagram there is a seal above the guide which looks to be the same seal that is in the pump housing. It feels like the tube is entering this seal but again not possible to see it. It is a long shaft by the way.Comment
