Tach Dropping out

2002 SX200txra.... while cruising at 4300 rpms...the tach goes blank and then shortly (5-10 mins).... it comes back with ALL alarms on and brings the engine
down to a idle. Any help would be great.

I had a similar problem except with no alarms. Tach first was inaccurate, then went to zero then, after a few minutes, engine went into safe mode (but with no alarms). Problem was a bad ground. There were 8+ ground wires and I disassembled each connection, emery papered all contact points, sprayed with electronic cleaner and reassembled. Solved the problem for me. Hope this helps
