Maybe a lighting coil on a motor, or any input or output of a CDI
something that has minimum specs in the Yamaha service manual.
Just to see if any of them would give a reading to compare to the specs normally read with the peak reading meters

I no longer own an outboard motor. Maybe Mr. Fairdeal can do some tests for us.

well the tests you already ran show the scope at just a few volts higher than the DCV reading with the DVA and meter so that should be close enough like you said.
as long as the spinning magnets under the flywheel do not do something strange

and it shows to be above zero not peak to peak, that answers my question on ac and dc voltage
