I have a 2001 50HP 4 stroke outboard. The guy i bought it from said it had old gas that sat a long time. They got the old gas out and had it running (not sure if carbs were cleaned). I’ve had it running about 4 or 5 times. It seems to take longer each time to get it going. Even after running full throttle for awhile once i shut it down for more than 10 minutes it takes awhile to start again. Last weekend it cranked but wouldn’t catch. I’ve only ever used premium gas. It’ll start in high idle but once i lower the high idle lever it dies. I had it briefly running at idle but once i moved the throttle it immediately died. I changed the water fuel separator and the fuel hose. I noticed a small crack in gas tank at the top which i need to replace. Could water in fuel cause this or does it seem like a carb issue i have a few videos of me trying to start it https://youtube.com/user/MrMrjayjay40
