  • Help with a 2004 150HP 2 stroke yammi....

Finally took the boat out today for its first test.
She wont idle very well at all. She will stall right away.
It seems like the pilot jets are clogged.

When under throttle she ran awesome!!!!
She would run great over 800RPMS.
When idle she would die at around 300-500 rpms.

I think thats a bit low, what should the idle speen be on this motor?

What are your thoughts on the idle problem?

Thinking some new or octane booster, new plugs and hopefully that helps. Trying not to tear down carbs and do a rebuild??

Any other tricks to try to idle better?

    Thanks
    Dan

Try a link and sync, and the idle I believe should be 750 +_ 50

If new plugs do not help you will need to pull and clean the carbs. Adjustments do not change by themselves, you have plugging/crud in carbs.

Make sure to follow the link and sync after reinstalling the cleaned carbs.

Also make sure you clean /flush the lines and fuel pump to make sure stuff hiding in there does not hit the cleaned carbs right after you fire it back up
