Yes and no.
If money and engine life are no consideration, then yes.
Practically speaking, no.
Now there are some things that can be done to the existing motor to maximize performance. Make sure the engine is mounted as high as it practical. Make sure the motor is propped so that it can reach at or near 6000 RPM when the throttle is wide open, with the motor is trimmed to the most efficient trim angle, with the boat being loaded as you would normally use it.
