No tilt, engine shuts down when pushed in gear

Hi,

I hit the river bed and my engine shut off. Since the engine starts but does shuts off immediately when push into gear. Also, when I try to tilt the engine it does not come up.

I welcome any tips because the manual doesn't help me.

Engine model is FT8MDH

If you hit the bottom chances are you will have a bent shaft or lower unit problem with the gears or clutch.If it runs in neutral and stalls when placed in gear you have something wrong in the LU. Best to drop it and look inside.

I agree it could be the lower is locked up or damaged .
Try turning the prop by hand with motor off and in neutral
drain the oil to inspect that
or like he said drop and open it up for inspection.
