Hey there,
Just put together a boat with an old yamaha 30 hp 2 stroke...
When I advance the throttle, the arm that advances the magneto forward with the throttle is sticking.. So i did:
- removed throttle arm and linkage (with the internal machine spring) took it all apart, cleaned and greased
- took off the flywheel, removed the stator and plates
- found old grease and not a lot of it
- inspected all parts and looked good.. even the nylon ring
- cleaned everything
- out new marine grease on everything
When I put it all together the arm is still not advancing when I put the throttle forward... hmmm... ???.... everything is still too tight!
Does anyone have an idea why this is?
