Steering Cable

I have a Yam. 9.9 tiller that I am converting to remote. 1995 Model: F9.9MLHT.
Question - I will be using my boats existing steering cable (original motor was Johnson 110HP) - is there a way to determine if the steering cable will be compatible with the 9.9 conversion?

All the steering cables are the same as far as the connection to motor, it should work fine.
