2005 Yamaha 225, V225TLRX
Had an unfortunate event when my boat was partially sunk. I suspect that water got in the engine via the intake, the engine was not totally submerged just the lower part of the engine. Removed the plugs, fogged the engine with fogging oil. Spun over, a small amount came out of the cylinders. After fogging reinstalled the plugs and briefly ran the engine on the trailer. Launched boat started the engine ran for a few seconds and locked up. Brought it to a Yamaha dealer in East Texas and was told that the engine will spin backwards but not forward.
Has anyone seen this happen and any suggestions on what could be going on with this engine.
Thanks for any input.
