  • '06 F250 - nmea 2000, trim info not working

I have a 2006 with nmea 2000 and a Lowrance interface cable. I get all pertinent information on my Garmin network except the trim information. I have the two pink wires on the motor connected, yet I still get no indication of of the trim.

Now it also doesn't work on my analog round gauges. Could it be an issue on the motor?

    Thank you in advance.

    Eric

for the analog to work the pink wires are disconnected.
for the commandlink/digital to work they must be connected.
you cannot have it both ways.

Thank you for the response. I did know that the analog wouldn't work when connected.

For others that may of had a similar problem, I did some more trouble shooting and I found the tilt trim sensor arm. It was not moving freely so I used a can of parts cleaner and was able to free it up. I applied some marine lube to it and it is now working correctly.

sometimes you can free the arm, sometimes the plastic splines spin out.
that's why you should spray them with Fluid Film or something every maint schedule.

          What's a maintenance schedule?

          What's maintenance?

Drive them till they drop seems to be the modus operandi of most.

after a year or so of doing this, its amazing how much maint the average outboard gets.
almost as much as a nascar racer.
