I have a 2 stroke 250 on my 22 foot fishing boat. The last few times I’ve taken it to the lake it has no power to get out of the hole unless my passenger get up to the front of the boat and lowers the nose it will pick up enough power to get on plane and run completely normal. I’ve replaced the fuel pumps, seems to start acting up right when I lower the engine all the way down for takeoff it starts to sputter some. Hoping I can get some guidance on what direction to go to next. Like I said, top end power is there in full, just no low end to get out of hole.

What's ur WOT rpm, at trimmed normal load ?? OK,, I just reread ur post. Did this motor boat combo used to jump out of the hole. and now its not ?? The oxxys are damn good motors. And the VST filter is a known issue. But usually falling on its face at higher rpms. Any chance said vessel has taken on water that u don't know about ?? Have you taken a good look at boat bottom and the prop ?Last edited by Keithbaja; 03-05-2022, 02:32 AM.
