  • prop problems cavitation

Hi, I have a 175hp with a 14 x 19 Ballistic Stainless Steel Propeller , rigged to an 18ft speedboat, the problems i am having is when im doing tight turns the prop cavites a lot , what i want to know if i drop the motor say 2 holes will this do anything for my problem , top end speed is good and plenty off pull for lifting a skier providing im in a straight line.

I suspect the propeller is ventilating, not cavitating.

Lowering the motor may help but it will be at some expense of optimal performance.

Have you considered trimming the motor down before making the turn and then trimming it back up coming out of the turn?
