Cardinal rule... always take notes and/or pics as you disassemble.
It's sometimes visible in parts breakdowns - check your service manual or use the link at the top of this page.
BUT... springs face the liquid you want to keep out. In this case, you want to keep sea water out.2000 Yamaha OX66 250HP SX250TXRY 61AX103847T

10 is not the down relief valve. 10 is called a protection valve.

I am very confused now, how can #9 be the up and down relief valve and open at different pressures depending on up or down direction?
looking at it harder, it seems #9 up relief valve is not in the same position/ location as the #9 down relief valve,
so it is not the same valve after all
