I would like to know what color wire goes to the trim meter on a older type digital tach. also is the trim meter reading ohms or voltage when in use. and what color wire would a 2015 115 LB use for t/t

Are you talking about the wire color in the engine harness, the harness that runs from the engine to the gauge wiring or are you talking about the wire color that is attached to the gauge itself?
When you say older style tachometer, how old is old? More than likely the pink wire from the tachometer is for the sender input. Power up the tachometer. Then, apply a ground to the pink wire. Watch the trim scale and see what happens.
Most Yamaha senders are two wire variable resistors. Certainly an F115LB uses one. Earlier motors used three wire senders (potentiometer).
Later Yamaha tachometers have a switch so that it can be set to a two wire type sender or a three wire type sender.
