  • OH NO!!! My F90 may be DONE.......

Thanksgiving morning, took the boat out for a morning fishing trip. After visiting the first couple of spots my motor dropped RPMs and would not get over 4400RPM WOT. I figured I had got a clog in one of my carbs - 2004, last year of the carbs.....so I ran it a while longer, and then went back to the dock. Brought it home and pulled the plugs just to see if I could see what cylinder was the culprit. I was devastated when I saw a watery residue on plug #2. (all others looked great). I pulled the dipstick and found milky oil.....uggghhh! 718 hours on her. Flushed and cared for....260981747_10222700141546546_1332204716489697130_n.jpg?_nc_cat=109&_nc_rgb565=1&ccb=1-5&_nc_sid=8bfeb9&_nc_ohc=FOoY0yNbAm4AX8oCC6c&_nc_ht=scontent-dfw5-1.xx&oh=fd496a2056f475a04224f2fdda743f7e&oe=61A8D09A.jpg

Could be lots of things, from a simple gasket to a major failure, investigation needed before you panic.

You can find many threads here regarding leak down/compression testing to try to identify the cause. I would change the oil/filter just to get rid of some/most of the water. no sense in letting that sit in engine.

I'm going to pull the head off this weekend -- I'll report back with my findings....Hoping for the best, preparing for the worst......

I'd do a leak down test FIRST.. It may indicate something you won't see with the head off..
