Fuel Supply Issues

I have had two separate problems in the past five years, both which had the symptom you describe. The first time I had fuel tank crud collecting against the "spring-ball" check valve where the supply line connects to the tank. Got rid of the check valve, and installed fuel water separator to deal with the crud.

Last year, similar symptoms (starvation) appeared, this time it turned out that the primer bulb was actually restricting fuel flow. I guess something came apart and/or lodged inside it to partially block the supply coming through. Just a couple of thoughts about possible causes..........

I am going to remove the tank's gauge/sender and clean/examine - replaced the primer bulb recently, so pretty sure it's not that

also buying a backup tank and hose assembly to rule out those 2 systems entirely
