Replacing Poppet Valve 1998 175 SW

Purchased 3 years ago s 175 TXRW 1998 replaced ,fuel pumps , Thermostats,water pump ,purchased Yamaha service manual and a poppet valve ,I have no problems but wanted to replace the valve ,after reading the manual it looks complicated and I wimped out .I checked youtube but only found 2004 , instead of removing everything they just pushed things to the side . Do I need to follow the manual or is there an easier way . Thanks

There's usually shortcuts you can take.

IMO, take the shortcut unless you get stuck, then remove what you have to...
