So.... stil only armed with my wits, science and the priceless advise of everyone here...

My manual still nowhere to be found

Anyhow, back to science. One runs well, one doesn't. I start comparing between the two. I've realized the timing on the good motor advances nicely when the throttle is eased open. The not good motor retards timing, then advances. The good motor seems to hold the advance nicely, while the not so good motor sems to have timng jumping around. Progress.

Previously i had only check base timing, and the fact that it was advancing, and not locked by the ECM.

all you need to do now is find out what will cause the timing to do that.

did you check to see if the alarm system is working?
      buzzer and indicators on tac?
the ECU has to do something to limit PRM, but I have no idea what it does to do that
I would find a way to set the over temp and oil alarm to make sure what is working and what is not

The temp alarm system is working.

Comparing the two motors, the good motor is MUCH quieter. The "bad motor" sounds like something is rubbing under the flywheel. Weather permitting, I'll be there tomorrow, and will test the stator, and pulser
