Where do I connect the positive cable?

New to me 40hp,but not sure where to connect the positive cable from the battery.Not sure of the year either as the sticker is missing,can I identify by any other means?

I connected it to the starter relay,but nothing happens when I turn the key(just to bump the starter)12.4 volts at the connection,nothing at the other post when I turn the key to start........I get a clicking when I try the tilt switch,but thats all.

I believe Boscoe99 has said there should be a sticker on the block close to starter with some serial # or something like that that might help.
Post what you can find


Bad connections or battery maybe.
Have you monitored the voltage when you hit the starter or T&T?

No voltage on other post or at starter when turning key either.No sticker on block.......Here is where I have it connected.
