Hi all! This is my first post on the forums but I have frequented from time to time for engine issues.
I have a 1998 200hp ox66 that has recently developed a knocking sound which has caused and/or resulted in other issues. I noticed the knock after getting the motor checked out after having issues with it while fishing. The boat failed to get on plane after idling for about an hour, the motor would not get above 3k rpms. I have attached the link to the video on youtube of the motor running on muffs at home. The sounds is a deep rumble but seems to be coming from the front of the block instead of the rear. Any diagnostic ideas would be greatly appreciated as I am afraid it is serious and going to be a costly problem...checked the lower unit thinking the sound could be traveling up but it seemed to be okay.
