  • ISC Valve question

I have a 2002 F115 4stroke Yamaha. It staggers when moving the throttle from idle to fast. I have YDS software and see the ISC is about 30% when warmed up and idling. What should it be? Is that like a choke? Is it 30% open or closed and does that change the fuel to air mixture? Help please.

To my knowledge, the ISC simply controls the idle speed.

It doesn't change F/A ratio's. IDK what the percentage ratio is.

When you shut off the engine, you should hear it "rattling" as it re-sets. If it gets real hot, its likely failing..

the ISC simply controls the amount of air at idle speeds.
its also simply a request from the ECU.
the ECU does not and cannot monitor the physical position of said valve.
that's where the tool on the neck has to work with the laptop.

ok. What do you think might cause that stagger when accelerating from idle to fast? It idles smooth. Thanks.
