2002 F115 4stroke trim tab

The trim tab on my motor is corroded and partially gone. Is the trim tab bolt accessable without removing lower unit? Is it only one bolt? Thanks

Yes, remove the rubber plug on top of the gear case, use a 12 mm socket and replace it, easy as pie, and I like pie.

Pay attention to the ANGLE its set at currently before you remove it. (in relation to the marks cast underneath)

Changing the angle DOES make a difference in steering straight, engine torque pull, etc..

Your owners manual should should the stock setting for it(if needed)
