Tiller Handle Buzzer

How can I test if a tiller handle buzzer is working?

One pink and one yellow wires coming out from the buzzer.

I've been looking for the answer os my SM's but no joy...

Pull the kill switch lanyard and crank the motor. The buzzer should sound.

Yellow is key on power. Pink is for the ground that is supplied by the CDI/ECU.

How dare you think that Yamaha is going to supply a description of operation.

Might be in that data I sent to you however.

cant belive Boscoe OR you fell for that.

it simply depends on the FREAKING model number.
NOT all yamahas will set the alarm at cranking.
but its a yamaha.

Hi guys!

The motor is 2003 F40BED (L) but on this year just was offered the F40ESR for the US market. Same thing just diferent shafts.

The tiller is this one:

10 pin harness

I don't think it will work as have lot of corrosion.

There is other way to test it like applying 6v or 12V?

In fact on my buddy 150FETO/S150TLR the buzzer sound with the lanyard disconnected while on my F100 nothing happen.

If it is just the buzzer you want to test apply 12 volts to the pink wire and ground to the other wire.

If it is the system you want to test run the motor while connecting the thrermoswitch pink wire to the black wire. After a short period of time the alarm should sound and the motor should go into rpm reduction mode.
