Anyone know if there is a spec for tightening the bolts on the engine motor mount for a F150 Yamaha? also, would one use a torque wrench or possibly an impact wrench to tighten the bolts?
Are you talking about the bolts and nuts used to attach the motor to a boat?
There is no torque specified by Yamaha. There may be one specified by the boat builder. If over tightened the motor mount may crush the transom.
The nuts are usually just tightened firmly making sure that the mount does not crush the transom. Then use the second nut as a locking device for the first nut.
It is important to make sure the transom surface and the mounting surface, that interface with each other, are clean of any debris.
