New to the forum & Yamaha outboards. I recently acquired a boat with twin 200 ox66's that I'm guessing haven't been run in some time. One is a 2000, other a 2001. These are the steps I plan on taking in preparation. Please chime in if I've missed anything.
Check compression
Check for spark
Check peehole for mud dobber nest
Remove & replace oil
Attach remote fuel tank
Inspect & clean oil filters
Check for any nests in airboxes
So a few general questions - Should I discard the oil for new? Is there anything I can do with the fuel injection? Is it safe to use starting fluid? Is there a way to test the water pump? Should I use pre-mixed gas? Thanks for your suggestions.
