Can't zoom into these new pic's, like we could in the first, piston picture.

I also don't see that imbedded object anymore in the top of the piston.. Did you pull that lil piece out?

I do now notice impact "marks" just above that little piece of unknow metal.

Was any work done to it just before the damage?

I'm guessing now the engine ingested that piece of metal. Further digging is needed..

That bottom photo looks like a piece of piston ring imbedded in the crown….but I guess it could be a small section of valve guide?

It was not piston ring part.
          cleaned up piston
Cant see any signs on impact

Need to pull out the piston too see if rings are damaged

Sylinder should be damaged if rings are damaged?

You can get an idea right now, just rotate the crank (by hand/wrench) so that piston goes down.. You now a good part of the cylinder to see..

I don't think your ring/cylinder will be damaged. That engine appears to have digested something(stuck in the piston top currently).

.Plz post up what you find..

no impact damage to head that can be seen.
sounds like there was no impact force to damage the piston then.

so what was that piece of metal on top of piston?
was it magnetic? (magnet attracted to it)
could it be a piece of the piston since there is a hole in it.
that piece of piston from that hole had to go somewhere

The pistons aluminum, and that little piece is embedded in it (can't be magnetic).

That embedded piece has sharp edges vs the hole in the piston is not even the same shape.

It's also very likely that whatever that was, parts got exhaled thru the exhaust valves .

*98% of my valve seat (in the previously posted mower pic's), got spit out and are still, to this day, in the muffler.

                .

I was just asking if the small piece was made of something that a magnet would attract,
I would think a ring would be and maybe a seat also, but not positive about that

what happened to that piece of metal that was stuck to the top of the piston?
                        what was it made of?

Photo looks like a lot of carbon in the ring grooves….

It was not stuck,, but not shure what or where it came from. Nothing in head or piston tha misses a part like this

talked to a mechanic and a possible cause is motor running lean.

                            fuelsupply hose was underdimensioned

Fuel line size caused only one cylinder to run lean?? Kind of doubt it, I don't doubt the running lean, that seems like what happened, but it's more likely something unique to that cylinder.

if it was not stuck there, was it just laying there?
it sure looked like it was stuck.

                                aluminum or some other metal.
                                definitely looks machined
