Motor kicks up in reverse

My 225 ox 66 rises up when I throttle up in reverse. Is it an adjustment or a bad part?

Sounds like a free piston oring failure.

it also depends on how hard your throttling up.

Just giving enough throttle to back up or stop. It's a twin engine boat and the other motor doesn't kick up.

possibly the shock absorber valve has failed or debris in it.
no adjustments on that unit.
