Serial number 01 225 V-Max

I purchased an 01 Yamaha 225 V-Max, model #VX225TLRZ, the identification label on the tilt/trim mount is unreadable. Where else is the serial number located on this outboard?
I have read several other forums, but I have not located anything, I have removed the flywheel, no #s, I cannot find any freeze plugs, as suggested from the Mercs. If anyone has more suggestions, I would appreciate a solution.

Vmax says very little about the model of a motor other than it has a 20" mid-section. There is a two stroke Vmax, an EFI Vmax, an HPDI Vmax and a four stroke Vmax.

Look on the block in the vicinity of the electric starting motor for the alternate ID label. Looks like this.
