my 30 hp is running rough, won't idle well, and is leaking fuel from the carb. everything I have read so far points to a remove the carb and disassemble, clean and rebuild it. I have a couple of issues here... motor is mounted on a pontoon, pontoon is in the water and I don't have a trailer. Any ideas about cleaning the carb without removing it? Thanks!

99.999% of the time, trying to clean a carburetor without completely disassembling it and soaking it in a heated ultrasonic cleaner is a waste of time.
We are talking about a 24 year old motor. Time to open the carbs up, clean them thoroughly and replace certain items. Do it once correctly and you may get another 24 years use from them. Do it not correctly and those carbs will keep on giving years of aggravation.
