I prefer the type that lets you inspect the clear bowl to determine if water is getting into your fuel supply. If so, you can easily drain it off. This type is available from Yamaha or from a Racor supplier
My problem is that I am getting fine particles in my injectors. I have a 10 micron filter now before the Motor but I want to install a 2 to Help, with that said you believe I should stay with a 60 GPH?
My brother-in-law's 115 HP 4 stroke Yamaha got a good bit of water in his fuel tank and it caused continuing problems with plugged injector screens, even with the fuel/water separator filter...turned out to be some corrosion on the inside of his VST tank...fine particles were aluminum oxide coming from the tank corrosion....so it might be something to check/replace....
I'm not sure, but the VST may have a special coating on the inside, but if it looses the coating due to corrosion then may continue to give up aluminum oxide particles....may need a new VST tank?....the Yamaha guys might give you some thoughts and guidance on this....
