Hello All,
I have a 2002 9.9 (T9.9ELRB) that lost a regulator/rectifier from a bad battery switch (charging 15.5). The original unit is obsolete with only an aftermarket replacement R/R available. The original unit has a wire (white with green stripe) that the replacement doesn’t have. Book shows it goes through lighting coil to ground. The question is, will the motor still charge the battery and will it hurt anything to run the motor without that white/green coming from the stator being connected to anything? The remaining wires - Black, red, green and green with white stripe are all the same on both units and have the same plug configuration. Thanks in advance for any info.
