What Year?

Can any one tell me what year my Yamaha 20A was made the number on it reads 647S-16490 any info will be gratfully acepted.

647 is an not existing number for the 20A.. according to the list this moter has to be...

647 1971-1972 P-165/8A (8Hp)
also the serial numbers is not existing for the 20A

i'll be happy to send you an .pdf file with all numbers from 1973/1983..

by further inspection of my list the serial number corresponds with an 25A short 1976..there should be a year-letter W stampt in an corner of the type plate...but the 25A has 656 as type number... perhaps certain exportnumbers are different...
