I have a 2000 model 100 hp outboard Yamaha four stroke carbureted model. I lost one of them the second to last one down, one with the choke on it. I found four stroke 80 hp carburetors they seem identical was wondering if they can work on my 100 hp with out doing anything. Can they work?

there seems to be three threads on this???? Assuming you are rebuilding this engine (you didn't loose the carby whilst driving,or stolen) then dismantle one of the original carby's and compare, as advised jet etc. for jet etc. , check bore diameter too.

anyways I had an mechanic working on my 100 hp motor and he lost one of the carburetors for it. I found 80 hp carbs and was trying to find out if they would work on my 100 hp.

Hi!
I have a carbed F100 that already was a F80 and carbs are diferent!
At 1st sight they looks like the same (same size, same venturi, etc) but on the F100 carbs if you remove the top plate you'll see a few holes that the F80 carbs don´t have (allowing more air get into de carb is my guess)
I had pics of this... I will try to find them to post here.
If your mechanic "lost?" you a carb he must find a carb for you (IMO)
Have a spare set but not for sale

K thanks that's kinda what I wanted to know, good info to have. I was trying to avoid having to order a carb for my motor thinking the 80 hp would work but sounds like it won't. So thank's for the info i'll look around for a complete carburetor to order.
