Hello, I recently purchased a restored Boston Whaler 13 powered by a 1997 C40 40hp dual carb two stroke. The engine only has about 80 hours but the control unit has seen better days. The control unit is a Yamaha 703. Looking around on Ebay, I was able to find plenty of these units, New and priced right. My question is in regards to compatibility. Did the 703 really change much since 1997 and can I just buy a new 703 to replace the one that came with my C40? The answer is most likely yes but I figured I'd ask before dropping $250.
