In the sticky section here, scheduled maintanence shows 500 hrs or 5 years.

An adjustment is based on the clearances between the camshaft and the valve actuation mechanism. If clearances are in specification then no adjustment is required. If clearances are not within specifications then an adjustment needs to be made.

Only an inspection of any particular motor will determine if an adjustment is needed or not.

What F150TXRD shim kit? Who makes it? It is not Yamaha. Yamaha does not offer a "shim" kit.

Although the engine is to be inspected for valve clearances it is somewhat doubtful that you will find them out of specification. If you do, then you will simply purchase whatever shim thickness is needed to get it back within specification.

There is a trick that you will need to learn in order to get a shim out, and a new on in, if you need to replace one.

Item 8 within this illustration are the shims, or what Yam calls pads.
